Course contents:

  • Hydraulics and Hybrology Labs
    • Hydraulic jump and stilling basins
    • Specific energy-critical depth
    • Flow over and vee notch weir. Broad crested weir
    • Measurement of water flow in river
    • Hydrometeorological measurements
  • Groundwater flow Lab
    • Darcy Law – Demonstration of water groundflow, calculation of hydraulic gradient and calculation of hydraulic conductivity
    • Demonstration of water groundflow, and calculation of hydraulic conductivity in confined acquifer

Laboratory Exercises:

  • Seven lab exercises, team reports: 60% of the Lab grade
  • Final written lab exam: 40% of the Lab grade
