Abstract

There is no doubt that cities in the future will have to produce a significant fraction of their own food. In order to do this, urban agriculture needs to be sustainable, something that cannot be said of many current agricultural practices. What should be the roadmap towards achieving this goal? This lecture will outline some of the obstacles and research needs.
