The implementation of effective actions to trigger the transition of traditional bio-based sectors towards a circular bioeconomy should be built upon a mix of strategies designed to exploit opportunities and strengths and address weaknesses and threats. Public policies properly articulated are needed that foster a socio-technical transition through regulations, laws, and soft policy measures.
