Ms Tahra Al-Rashdi is a PhD Student currently completing her PhD Thesis at the College of Agriculture and Marine Science, Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman in the Middle East. Her supervisor is Professor Ahmed Mushtaque, while Asst. Prof. Alexandros Stefanakis of our School is also co-supervisor. Her thesis is about sludge treatment reed beds or sludge treatment wetlands, a nature-based solution that is applied for municipal sludge dewatering and drying. This research study is the first one carried out in the wider Middle East region on the design optimization and performance evaluation of this sustainable technology that can transform a waste material into a biosolid material useful in agriculture. Tahra will present the overall results of her experimental work.
