Em. Professor and IWWG President Evangelos Gidarakos participated in the 9th International Symposium on «Energy from Biomass and Waste», conducted on 21-23 of November in Venice, Italy.

Prof. Gidarakos opened the Symposium, as President of IWWG (International Waste Working Group), one of the Symposium Organizers.

He gave a keynote lecture entitled «Never let a good crisis go to waste”, focusing on the current energy crisis and its connection to the waste management sector, especially as far as the existing possibilities on energy recovery from waste are concerned.

He also participated in a round table discussion on thermal waste treatment and presented a scientific project on «Microwave hydrothermal carbonization of rabbit manure» with Ph.D. candidate Mr. Ioannis Moukazis.
